This presentation will discuss both common and uncommon causes of chest pain and other dialysis emergencies. Learners will have the opportunity to work through case scenarios and review ECG interpretation.

Leora Wanounou MN NP CCN (c)

Leora Wanounou is a hemodialysis Nurse Practitioner (NP) at St. Michael Hospital. Leora started her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in cardiology at UHN where her research interests were in new graduate nurses, and cardiac arrhythmias.  After completing her Master’s degree joined St. Michael Hospital in the Nephrology ward and Hemodialysis unit as an NP, and now works solely in the Hemodiaysis unit.  As a Hemodialysis NP she works with the multidisciplinary team, she has been a preceptor to NP students and has an academic appointment as adjunct lecturer at U of T.  Leora has presented on various topics locally and nationally, she has used her cardiac and dialysis experience to help educate nephrology nurses on cardiology basics and emergencies.
