- Overview of the toxic drug crisis
- Recognising the clinical presentation of people with opioid toxidrome including tainted illicit fentanyl, such as ‘benzo’ and ‘tranq’ dope.
- Understanding the medications used in the medical management of people with opioid use disorder (OUD) including traditional opioid agonist therapy (OAT) and prescribed safer supply/prescribed alternatives (PSS/PA).

With roots in Cape Breton Island, I have lived in Northern BC for the past 25 years. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing at the University of Northern BC, and Doctorate at Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington. I completed my Addiction Fellowship at the BC Centre on Substance Use in 2022. I currently practice in Prince George at Carrier Sekani Family Services as the Clinal Director of Substance Use and Addictions. I am the Clinical Advisor, Ministry of mental Health and Addictions, Overdose Emergency Response Centre, and have been an Adjunct Professor at UNBC since 2007. When not working, I enjoy hiking, travelling, and mountain trekking with my hiking partner Mildred the Bernedoodle.
