Speaker

Ali Iqbal, MD, FRCPC, Transplant Nephrologist, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton; Assistant Professor, McMaster University, Hamilton

Dr. Iqbal is a transplant nephrologist at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and an Assistant Professor at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He works with patients who have chronic kidney disease at all stages of their transplant journey, from pre-transplant assessment to post-transplant care. He is involved in medical education at all levels, including undergraduate medical education, post graduate residency and fellowship training. He is interested broadly in transplant bioethics and more specifically in issues pertaining to organ trafficking and forced organ harvesting. He is a member of the International Coalition to Transplant Abuse in China (ETAC), Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) and Canadians in Support of Refugees in Dire Need (CSRDN).
